Following the Yorkshire Regional and the North Yorkshire County Screening days in June, all squads have now been finalized. Players have been informed as to which Academy they have been successfully selected to attend. Congratulations to all the players and officials involved.
Collectively, the Region and the North Yorkshire Performance officials have been able to scree, technically select and impartially assess over 100 players within a 48 hours timeframe – no mean feat!
The North Yorkshire Performance Group is now actively working to finalise all arrangements concerning the venues and coaches in readiness for the new Netball season starting in September. We are excited in that we have been able to secure excellent facilities and consistent evenings for both the Academies and Satellites and Development Group.
Huge thanks go to Jody Ivel, our North Yorkshire N.D.O., for working tirelessly to secure great facilities and for taking into consideration the wide areas from which our players come. So, Thank you!
We will be contacting all Academy players during August with the details of when their Academy programme start , details of the appointed coaches and to outline the commitment that is required to both the programme and their own professional netball development . In return, we shall outline the commitment that the players can expect from the personnel in North Yorkshire.
During the year, we want to celebrate success and recognise the results of the players hard work and commitment to Netball. Our first series of congratulations goes to the players from North Yorkshire who were selected for the Regional Under-17 Performance Academy for 201-17.
So, all the following players, please take a bow!
We aim to keep you informed about all our success stories, so please keep a lookout for the next North Yorkshire News Bulletins where we will be congratulating our NY County Academy candidates.
If you, or someone else in your Club who is connected to Junior or Performance netballers, have a story to share, please e mail me. We would love to share your news with all our County members.
Looking forward to the new season!
Shauna Mulligan – NY Performance Lead.
