Umpiring Pathway
Once you have attended a North Yorkshire Basic Umpiring Course you will be able to :
Once you have gained the EN Into Officiating Award you will be able to :
Once you have gained the NE C Award you will be able to :
The County deals with the administration of the Basic, Into Officiating and C Award qualifications. For further details of any of these Awards, please contact the NY Chair – Carole Fozard
For details of the B Award, the A Award and the International Award please contact the Chair of the Regional Officiating Group as detailed on the Netball Yorkshire website.
- umpire netball matches in the Lower Divisions of your Local District League within North Yorkshire.
- umpire netball matches in the Local District Junior League within North Yorkshire according to your age ( e.g. if you are 14 years old then you can umpire matches for the Under-12, Under-13 and Under-14 age groups)
- umpire at training sessions to gain more confidence and practice
- umpire at some school matches
- progress to attend the EN Into Officiating Award Course or the NE C Award Course if you have enough experience.
Once you have gained the EN Into Officiating Award you will be able to :
- umpire netball matches in some Divisions of your Local District League within North Yorkshire.
- umpire netball matches in the Local District Junior League within North Yorkshire according to your age ( i.e. if you are 13 years old then you can umpire matches for the Under- 12 and Under-13 age groups)
- umpire at training sessions to gain more confidence and practice
- umpire at some school matches
- progress to attend a NE C Award Course
Once you have gained the NE C Award you will be able to :
- umpire at County Junior Leagues and Tournaments ( if over 16years or up to the umpire’s own age group if under-16)
- District and County Adult Leagues( if over 16years or up to the umpire’s own age group if under-16)
- Umpire at National Schools’ County Round
- Gain more experience and progress towards the B Award for Umpiring.( please see the Netball Yorkshire website for details of B Award Courses and the process)
- Once you have attended a B Award Course and are in the process, you may be invited to get involved with the Regional Under-14 League and the Regional Round of National Schools’ Tournament.
