The County

North Yorkshire Netball Association is the membership body for netball in North Yorkshire — we provide competition opportunities aligned to the national competition structure, player coaching sessions on the 1st stage of the England Netball player development pathway, officiating development and coach development opportunities to our members.

We are affiliated to and closely aligned to the Yorkshire Regional Netball Association who offer competition opportunities to our member clubs if they wish to progress to the next level of player development and competition.

Our county association is run by dedicated and passionate volunteers who want to provide opportunities to play and develop netball in the county of North Yorkshire.

We operate 4 competitive leagues providing over 70 hours of competition per week from September to Easter each year providing opportunities for netball players, coaches, volunteers and officials from 8 to 80. In addition to this we also provide support and advice to our affiliated members in our partner leagues.

Our Performance and Coaching programme offers a programme of coaching to talented young athletes at U13 and U15 level, offering them the opportunity to work towards pathway trials at U15 for Leeds Rhinos. This is the first phase of the national player development pathway. In addition to this we operate a coach mentoring team with level 1 and aspiring coaches working with our coaching team to develop their knowledge and skills.

We provide opportunities for learner umpires to be mentored by our team of experienced officials at all levels to help to develop the officials of the future. As well as organising officiating assessments at Into and C Award levels, the officiating group provide advice and guidance on many aspects of officiating in North Yorkshire.
