North Yorkshire Netball Schools Tournament
The county round of the National Schools' Netball Tournament, and the link between school netball and club netball across North Yorkshire.
The competition
Schools within North Yorkshire are represented on the County Management Board, which keeps communication open between the county association and schools and gives schools access to umpires, coaches and training resources.
Schools across the county are organised into four districts: York and Selby; Harrogate and Craven; Hambleton and Richmond; and Scarborough and Ryedale.
Our main annual event is the North Yorkshire county round of the National Schools' Netball Tournament, for Under 14, Under 16 and Under 19 age groups. The county round takes place in November, with the regional round following in January.
We want young players to experience a smooth transition from school netball into junior and then senior club teams, so we work with the Performance Group on pre-screening sessions and screening weekends for the Performance Pathway.
Progression
County round
Held in the Autumn term for U19, U16 and U14 age groups, run by North Yorkshire Netball Association.
Yorkshire regional round
Winners and runners-up from all three age groups represent North Yorkshire the following February. Run by the Yorkshire region.
National finals
Winners and runners-up from each age group at the regional round represent Yorkshire region in the national finals. Run by England Netball.
County Round
